Following the success of last weeks post celebrating a rise in construction in the north west. We’re continuing the theme and this week we’re focusing on a featured project in Manchester.
If you missed last weeks feature on the Liverpool FC Training Academy you can find it here.
With ground about to be broken the Cornbrook Development in Manchester has been in the works for quite a while now. Back at the beginning of the year a hybrid application was submitted which included the erection of a part 14, part 15 storey building to create 280 residential apartments and a ground floor commercial unit.
An outline application was also submitted by Peel Holdings (Land & Property) Limited for a 154 bed hotel, 88 bed apart-hotel plus retail space alongside the detailed application.
With contractor Graham Construction now on board for the residential part of the project for Glenbrook CB Ltd. The development, designed by Sheppard Robson features a mix of resident amenity space, ground floor retail space, car parking and support back of house facilities, along with a new retail unit facing Chester road.
Materials for the build include a concrete frame, cladding and external glazing, outdoor amenity space will consist of sedum green roofs, composite decking, climbers for screening and ornamental grasses.
