Liverpool Football Club New Training Complex due to complete in 2020.
To celebrate the rise in construction projects in the North West, this week we’re putting the spotlight on key projects of interest in Merseyside.
Mainly the brand new Liverpool FC Training Complex being constructed in Kirkby which is well underway now.
Construction began officially in September 2018 on the development of the new state of the art training complex. This project will see their first team and academy football training operations and facilities join forces on one dedicated site.
McLaughlin & Harvey Construction Ltd were appointed main contractor back in July 2018 to deliver the £50 million project.
The scheme which includes two gyms, a full-size sports hall, pool, hydrotherapy complex and specialist sports rehabilitation suites. Dedicated TV studios, press conference facilities and office accommodation are also part of the plans.
The scheme, which is set to complete in early 2020 is bringing investment to the Knowsley area and they hope to build successful relationships with those that live in the area. Especially as the project includes the redevelopment of the community playing fields, which neighbour the new Academy/training complex site.
Improvements will include football pitch upgrades, new changing rooms and associated facilities, enhanced security and lighting as well as improved drainage and new pedestrian and cycle pathway.
Building works to the community playing fields is expected to finish by 2019 and the team look to move to the new Football Academy during the close season.
